Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Ho and Sightseeing
Arrive in the city of Ho, the capital of the Volta Region. Visit the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, a magnificent Roman Catholic cathedral known for its impressive architecture and serene ambiance. Explore the vibrant local markets and experience the bustling city life. Overnight in Ho.
Day 2 Mount Afadjato and Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary
Depart early in the morning for the Mount Afadjato hike, the highest point in Ghana at 885 meters (2,904 feet) above sea level. Embark on a guided trek through the lush rainforest and scenic landscapes, taking in the fresh mountain air and stunning vistas. Reach the summit of Mount Afadjato and soak in the panoramic views of the surrounding Volta Region and beyond. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the summit or a designated rest area, savoring the accomplishment of conquering Ghana’s highest peak. After descending from Mount Afadjato, proceed to the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, a sacred grove and home to the revered Mona monkeys. Take a guided tour of the sanctuary and learn about the cultural beliefs and traditions surrounding these primates, which are considered sacred by the local community. Witness the monkeys in their natural habitat, observing their behavior and interactions. Explore the surrounding village and gain insights into the local way of life, traditions, and warm hospitality. Day 3 Wli Waterfall and Departure
Depart for the Wli Waterfalls, one of the highest waterfalls in West Africa, cascading down a staggering height of over 60 meters. Hike through the lush rainforest to reach the base of the falls and enjoy the refreshing mist and natural beauty. Visit nearby villages and interact with locals to gain insights into their traditional way of life, arts, and crafts. Participate in cultural activities, such as weaving, pottery, or traditional dance performances (subject to availability). Return to Ho or depart for your next destination.
