One of the largest of its kind in the world, this remote piece of wilderness has proved a veritable incubator for flora and fauna since first gaining protected status in the late nineteenth century.

Itinerary
Day 1: Zanzibar - Dar es Salaam - Selous
At 06:00 a.m., there will be a pick up from your hotel in Zanzibar to the ferry to take a boat to Dar es Salaam (1:30 hours) where you will be connected to a minivan and driven towards Selous (Nyerere National Park). Lunch shall be served at 11:00 p.m. In the afternoon, at 3:30 p.m. embark on a boat safari where you’ll admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Selous Game Reserve is home to a high diversity of both large mammals and bird species, and the world’s largest population of African hunting dogs exists in the reserve. Dinner and overnight will be at Selous Mloka Lodge.
Day 2: Full game drive at Selous (Nyerere)
On this day, you will explore Selous on a morning game drive, around 6:00 a.m. You will look for leopards, lions, wild dogs, hyenas, buffaloes, wildebeest, elands, hartebeest, crocodiles, lizards, and other residents. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this reserve. The network of rough roads is reliably rewarding, especially during the dry season around the lakes. In the afternoon, You shall enjoy the park to the fullest until late in the evening when you shall have dinner at 7:30 p.m., then overnight at Selous Mloka Lodge.
Day 3: Selous - Dar es Salaam - Zanzibar
At 7:00 a.m. after breakfast, you will have a short walking safari before being transferred to Dar es Salaam which will be the end of the trip. You will be dropped off at the ferry to take a boat back to Zanzibar.
